PORTCHESTER GROUP OF COMPANIES

Portchester Equity Limited (PEL) was set up in 2010 as a holding company for a number of investments in
unquoted UK companies. In 2010 Portchester acquired the majority of the share capital of Leafield Logistics.


The group’s strategy is to be the majority investor, on a long term basis, in B2B niche service and manufacturing
companies in the UK.


As well as Leafield Portchester also invests in the following companies making up Portchester Equity Limited:

W H Davis: Manufacturer of transportation equipment

 

W H Davis

was originally a family business established in 1910 and is based near Mansfield. The company’score business is rail freight wagons on which it offers three services including; design and manufacturing, refurbishment and modification of existing rolling stock and 24 hour onsite maintenance and repair. W H Davis also manufactures containers and other specialist equipment.

Arrow: Specialist supplier and installer of industrial doors

 

Arrow

was founded in 1984 and supplies rapid roll doors,

automatic doors and PVC strip curtain doors across the UK. The company’s wide range of blue chip customers
primarily operates in the food manufacture, food retail and pharmaceutical sectors where stringent hygiene regulations exist. The business is based in Hull. In 2012 it made an investment in a roller shutter business which has enabled it to widen its product offer.

Hi Technology Group: Plastic injection moulding

 

Hi Technology Group

was founded in 1983 and has grown steadily to become a “one stop shop” for plastic injection moulding. Operating from its factories in Waterlooville, Hampshire and Slovakia it offers a wide range of services including design and tooling manufacture, plastic injection
moulding and assembly for its blue chip customer base.

Procomm: Supplier (hire and sale) of modular temporary accommodation and storage

 

Procomm

began trading in early 2002, following the acquisition of the hire fleet assets from a solvent Enron subsidiary. The business has grown steadily since
then and now operates from 4 branches in Redcar,
Warrington, Chepstow and Brantham. The company
enjoys a stable customer base and its primary focus is
on heavy process industries which tend to involve
a longer rental period.

Chevron: Specialist road and traffic management

 

Chevron

was founded in 1979 and is now one of the leading independent providers of traffic management
services, with operations in six locations in the UK.
In 2013 Chevron successfully tendered for all 12 T/M
lots on the Highways Agency’s Category Management
Framework contract for Traffic Management.
