Embody two approved modifications to Qty 5 OEM standard rigs:

Safety related: chassis earth bonding, connector and electronic component changes, fabrication of new mounting plates

Maintenance cost reduction: relocate oil filter and filler tube – welding and fabrication required

Evaluation process

Site visit view and assess labour requirement for embodiment of the modifications.

Gather required labour & material costs, submit quotation to customer for approval

Strip, rewire and replace components as specified in accordance with OEM technical data

 

Outcome

Final test to OEM specification

Pack to SPIS J standard (tropical)

Produce Certificate of Conformity and Calibration certificate

 

MODULATOR ASSEMBLY CASE STUDY

 

Requirement

Customer order received for Qty 1 operational ex naval stock modulator.

OEM Datapack and Test specification unavailable.

Evaluation process

Five items identified in ex MoD stock. Following assessment, these were found to be at differing build standards

Customer was contacted and the correct revision status with reference to their required application was agreed.

Three of the five met the required build standard, these were tested for consistent response across the three units and a reference standard established.

All components tested in accordance with OEM specification.

 

Outcome

Single unit in best condition was selected, tested cleaned as required and despatched to customer

Results recorded and shipped with equipment in specified packaging.

SONAR CHASSIS AND PECS EVALUATION - TYPE 23 COMMAND SYSTEM CASE STUDY

 

Requirement

Customer places order on Leafield Technical Services to evaluate condition of Qty 6 PECs and 2 Chassis assemblies.

Customer selects items for assessment from Leafield stocks

OEM Datapack and Test specifications unavailable.

Comparative testing programme

Digital and analogue multi component testing

 

Outcome

Leafield was able to establish correct operation of all fitted components to a reference standard PEC

Results are recorded and supplied to customer with the tested hardware.
