The site commenced operation as a mine for Bath stone that was then used all over the UK and also in South
Africa, USA and Canada.
After stone extraction ceased the mine was used as an ammunition store for the UK MoD and subsequently
converted into a storage facility for the Royal Navy by the UK MoD from whom Leafield acquired the site in 1995.
Leafield have continued to develop the site, which has high level, government issued, security clearance allowing for the secure storage of UK MoD items. In recent years we have developed a special facility for the testing, calibration and repair of complex equipment and can even undertake prototyping activity.
The site comprises of circa 7 acres of surface land with 70,000 square feet of warehousing supplemented by over 15 acres of underground area with a further 350,000 square feet of useable space.
